Namibia: In Discussion With Unicef's Ian Mcleod

UNICEF's new country representative, Ian Mcleod, came to Namibia about six months ago after seven years in South Asia, and a stint in Africa's Mozambique, South Africa, as well as Rwanda and Somalia. And the development issues around the globe remain the same, more or less.

Africa: 20 Years of World Aids Day is Time for Faiths to 'Take Stock'

Ndungane was speaking in an interview for the Amsterdam- and Cape Town-based World Aids Campaign, founded by UNAIDS, ahead of the 20th anniversary of the marking of 1 December as World AIDS Day. The campaign says World AIDS Day is a time of "global solidarity for a pandemic that has led to over 25 million deaths, with an estimated 33 million people currently living with HIV worldwide".

Cameroon: Anti-Retrovirals Are Effective! - Prof. Muffih Tih

In this exclusive interview, Professor Pius Muffih Tih, Director of Health Services Cameroon Baptist Convention, CBC, harps on the efficacy of the anti-retroviral drug which is now free of charge, in restoring hopeless cases of AIDs infection back to normalcy. He says they are currently handling over 5,500 HIV/AIDS patients in the Northwest Region and they have gone further to introduce "Contact Tracing" to track the spread of HIV/AIDS and possibly break the chain of its transmission, besides trying to get prostitutes (high-risk) group to go back to school, regroup other sex workers in gainful activities with the view of employing them very soon.
